Huh.

Snooks Eaglin has died.
Snooks Eaglin was still alive?
Snooks Eaglin was only 72?
I had him mentally filed in a much earlier era.

The couple of Smithsonian/Folkways records of his I have are all solo acoustic of which there's only one on YT, no fear 'cos he rocks it plugged too. Vale Snooks.

Sad news. Snooks was one of the guys I've always meant to get into.

He has some stuff on eMu that I'll get in a few days.

Boy he was one of the greats. I have the Capitol Records re-issue from the mid-90s. I also had primarily acoustic stuuf and had 'filed' jim away until I got that set. This video looks like that's Ken Blevins on drums with George Porter, which might put it around the time those two were doing time with John Mooney back in the laet 80s when they actually came to my town in upstate New York, Naples, NY and playeed at the Middletown Tavern.
