Without ever having heard anything by Justin Townes Earle, I suppose I would have expected some kind of rock-country-alt thing (not that there's anything wrong with that. Well, not really.) so I was very pleasantly suprised to find a number of the 10 tracks (30 minutes! No fat on this puppy) are of country of a quite classic sound. And by "classic" I don't mean Gram Parsons, I mean Ray Price. There's a civil war ballad and some bouncier string band numbers. I'd love to be the only person to talk about this album not to mention Steve Earle but I really can't, I had to check to see it wasn't him singing "Far Away in Another Town" (in a good way) but it's only occasionally the comparison forces itself on you.

A rekkid well worth getting.
